MASTERCLASS:
RICHARD EDLUND
Hosted by Réjane Vallée (Professor, University of Evry Paris Saclay)
An exceptional masterclass with our 2026 Honorary GENIE. Richard Edlund is one of the most influential pioneers in the history of modern visual effects.
A founding member of Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), he helped shape the aesthetics and techniques of Hollywood blockbusters in the 1970s and 1980s. He is best known for his groundbreaking work on the original Star Wars trilogy, which earned him several Oscars, as well as on iconic films such as Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Poltergeist (1982), Ghostbusters (1984), and Die Hard (1988).
The meeting will be followed by a screening of Harold Ramis' cult film starring Michael Keaton and Andie MacDowell: Multiplicity (1996), for which Richard Edlund created the visual effects at his company Boss Films.
