The 2019 GENIE of Honor is an award given to a French or foreign personality who has contributed through his creativity, his sense of innovation and his vision to developing the film and animated image industry.
A graduate of Beaux-Arts in Bergen in Norway and INSAS in Belgium, Eve Ramboz, VFX supervisor and director, is one of the major figures of visual effects in France. She has worked for almost thirty years with filmmakers from all over the world: Peter Greenaway, Brian de Palma, Steve Baron, Roland Joffé, Walter Salles, Elie Suleiman, Olivier Assayas, Dominique Issermann, Stéphane Sednaoui …
Already awarded an Emmy Award and a César for Best Decor, this multidisciplinary artist is now devoted to the realization and creation of digital visual effects for cinema, television and other visual shows within the studio La Maison.
She is currently working on the avant-garde Cunningham 3D project directed by Alla Kovgan, dedicated to the work of legendary American choreographer Merce Cunningham.

John Knoll has been one of the leading figures in the visual effects industry of the past 20 years. In 1986 he joined Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), the visual effects company founded by George Lucas. After three years as an operator, he made his debut in visual effects on James Cameron’s “Abyss”, which won ILM its tenth Oscar.
As visual effects supervisor, John Knoll collaborated on the “Star Wars” prelogy in the early 2000s as well as on the “Pirate of the Caribbean” franchise for which he won the OSCAR and the BAFTA for Best Visual Effects on the episode “Pirates of the Caribbean: the secret of the cursed chest”.
Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, Brian de Palma, James Cameron, George Lucas, JJ Abrams or Martin Scorsese are among the directors with whom he has worked. John Knoll is also the originator of the story of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and he is one of the creators of Photoshop software.
Like Phil Tippett, Dennis Muren and Joe Letteri, also honored at the GENIE Awards, John Knoll is part of the VES Hall of Fame, made up of a selection of supervisors who have played a considerable role in the advancement of techniques in the field. special and visual effects.
